Time: 9:30 a.m. Meet at Jarboe Park for our next adopt a road clean up. We will, as always go out for breakfast after we are done which is usually around 10:30. So plan to join us and bring a friend. Directions to Jarboe Park: From Third Street in Neptune Beach, turn west at Florida Blvd, then north at the blinking light. Check out the second year anniversary photo. Email info@untamedadventures.org for more information. |
Time: 5 p.m. 8/15: We head back to Atlantic Beach for this beach social, at the 7th Street Access. This may be one of the best nights for the beach as there will be a full moon rising at 7:31. So come and plan to stay to see this wonderful sight, if the clouds do not get in the way. The rains have left us for a short time, and we hope we have gentle breezes as we sit and watch the pelicans fly home to roost and all the other wildlife on the shores. Bring snacks and drinks, chairs and any thing else to make you comfortable. The water is great for swimming also. Dogs are welcome on leashes. 8/29: Our last beach social will be at Neptune Beach at the Hopkins Ave. ramp. Parking is available around the church. Please come and bring a friend as we wind up the summer schedule at this beautiful location. Bring your chairs and snacks and again pets are welcome on leashes. And don't forget we can use the trolley service after 6:00. Email info@untamedadventures.org for more information. |
Time: 6:30 p.m. How much do you know about sea turtles, where do they come from, how long does it take for the eggs to hatch, do the females really come back to the spot they were born to lay their eggs? And how do you know where these nests are? We are going to get the chance to ask these questions and more when we gather together on the beach to get a close up look at a marked nest and listen to the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol as they explain what they do and what they have learned about these highly endangered species. So far there are 35 nests and several have already hatched. We will meet first at The Loop on Third Street in Neptune Beach at 5:30 to have a sandwich or soup and salad, and then will car pool to the location for the seminar. Please join us and bring your chairs, or something to sit on. We plan to meet on the beach at 6:30 and if you want to join us there let us know and we can advise you where to meet us. Email info@untamedadventures.org for more information. |
Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $50.00 We have just reserved this date for a full moon kayak trip at Guana Lake. This is a very special place and if you have never been out there you will be amazed at the wildlife and the beauty of the reserve. Paddle is open to all levels of experience. Sign up today and payments must be made in full by September 7th. Email info@untamedadventures.org for reservations. |
